friend adds are fairly hard to do,when someone adds you. Yes you get an email but then you have to go through a few different things to add a person back. Perhaps a notification on your profile page or home page?
Also re: groups, the description from the groups looks off because it's a narrow column instead of a wider one filling the space next to the logo/image representing the group. I realize it's roughly 9-11 words spacing per line as is most comfortable for people to read, but it just looks odd. So far that's my suggestions.
